It was finally time to make a visit during the long Hari Raya - Deepavali break to the recently opened “Areca - Center of Performing Arts”. The last I heard about it was when it was still an idea and to hear that Areca has finally taken form, was welcomed news.
Areca, is an official supporter of the Penang Island Jazz Festival 2006 which is just slightly over a month away. A new locale to learn music and studio for practice has recently opened at Section 11. Hold your music notes and come and drop by Music Mart! Music Mart comes to you with a wide range of musical instruments and pop music courses catering to everyone from 4 years of age and above. If you are one of those trained in the traditional, stuffy (ahem) manner (like Eugene did - that explains a lot!) you might be pleased to know that the courses are designed to be fun, extremely enjoyable and educational, and conducted by music professionals in the music industry.  The man behind this is none other than Edwin Nathaniel. Who, you might ask, is this person? He is one of the founding member of Aseana Percussion Unit [APU] and also Evening Breeze.
